NUB Cafe Espresso

Author:

Oliva introduced this new line of coffee infused cigars at IPCPR this summer. This is the first flavor infused offering ever from Oliva. There are three different flavor offerings, including Macchiato, Cappuccino, and Espresso. Each flavor is available in six different vitolas. The band has a smooth chocolate colored background with gold lettering and accents. I’d like to thank Joe from @BaxtersCigars for giving me this cigar to review.

First puffs– There is a strong aroma emitting from the wrapper of creamy vanilla and dark chocolate. There is a bit of cinnamon spice and hints of leather.  So far the draw is perfect and there is a lot of smoke.
First third– Upon inhaling there are strong creamy espresso and coffee flavors. Delicious. Mid way into this third I am picking up a rich vanilla undertone. The spice has completely dissipated now. For a flavor infused cigar the wrapper is only slightly sweet.

Second third– As I progress, coffee is more dominate with each puff. The vanilla flavor is more prominent now. I am also tasting a bit of leather, chocolate and some earthiness as well.
Final third– This last part of the stick tastes more like a traditional cigar. While the coffee flavor is still present there are more earthy flavors including cedar and leather.

Wow, I absolutely loved this cigar! The aroma of this cigar is so strong I was worried it would be way too sweet for my taste. Luckily my apprehension was unfounded and the flavor profile was perfect. Obviously this cigar is a great choice for a morning smoke, but I would also recommend it as an after dinner treat. These are hitting stores soon and I am sure they will go fast!
