I had heard good things about this cigar, so i figured it was time to try it. This is my first La Gloria Cubana. Looking at this cigar is pleasing. Such a rich dark leathery brown, the wrapping looks impeccable. The initial smell is nice and sweet with a little spice mixed in. The cold draw gives me a little spice as well. Looking at the band and I notice the gold right away, very nicely designed. I am drinking a fresh margarita with this cigar.

First puffs– There is that spice I tasted in the cold draw. This thing is packed tight, trying to get smoke from it is like drinking a DQ Blizzard with a straw. Beyond the spice I get light pepper and wood.

First third– Now the draw is getting better and is producing more smoke now. It has become much lighter now, spices have subsided for the most part. Leaving a most wood and leather flavor. I am also tasting some chocolate flavor, bringing a nice sweetness to the mix.
Second third– Pepper has returned along with a deep tobacco and wood flavor. The draw is still ok but on the tight end.
Final third– Finishing up and getting a mellow wood taste along with some added chocolate again. This is the best part of the cigar so far. It is super smooth now and tastes great.

Overall a nice smoke. Flavors are where this cigar stands out. They are complex and shift beautifully throughout. The wrapping of this cigar is amazing, overall construction superb. This has been out for a while but if you haven’t tried it yet, it is a must try for the price to quality ratio.
