While reading up on this beauty, I noticed that the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor, was the No. 2 cigar in the world as ranked by Cigar Aficionado magazine in 2011. This was a must smoke in my opinion. The initial smell is very pleasant, sweet with a hint spice. The wrapper on this cigar looks like it was dipped in cocoa powder, it is so smooth that I can barely see any veins. The band has a Victorian era feel to it. There is a vignette of a port city and a maiden in the middle. The second band says “Mi Amor”. Overall presentation is classic and welcomes the smoker to enjoy.

First puffs– I get a chocolate flavor with that hint of spice I smelled before lighting. There is also a creaminess to it. The draw is fantastic and smoke is billowing.
First third– very surprising so far, I never would have thought this would be this smooth as the wrapper was so dark. I get a great wood flavor now with faint spices and chocolate. Still oh so smooth and creamy. The ash is kind of loose along with the draw but is nice and making it easy to smoke and enjoy.

Second third– I am now to the halfway point and the first band is burning off, it would not come off forcefully. The flavor hasn’t changed but I am more than alright with that. When it’s great, don’t change it.
Final third– the flavor has shifted more towards an earthy profile with a kick of pepper. Still smooth. Still creamy. Still fantastic.

I smoked this bad boy till it burnt my fingers. Amazingly smooth smoke that picked its flavors and knocked them out of the park. I plan on adding more to my humidor and praising its name to the world.
