I have been looking forward to this cigar since it’s IPCPR debut. I picked this up at Churchills Fine Cigars in AZ. Right away you will notice the awesome band. Great color combo of red wine and a creamy off white. There is a gold foiled border along with some numbers embossed on each side 337 and 711, (337 is the time (3:37am) Jon was inspire to create the JDH. 711 is the street number of the house Jessie James (J.D.Howard) lived in east Nashville). The aroma of this cigar is fantastic. A soft sweetness with a light tobacco as well. The wrapper is a medium leathery brown with visible leaf lines and veins. There is a mix of sweet and spice in the cold draw.
First third– The spices have settled down a bit and are merging well with the wood flavors. There is a taste of smoked meat, this may sound odd, but it’s the best way to describe it. The ash is great on this, light grey with white specs. The draw is still fantastic.
Fantastic smoke. Superb construction and tobacco choices make this an enjoyable smoke right from the start. The crowned heads are doing it right. Producing amazing quality cigars that ooze sophistication and flavor. This is a must smoke and will surely become a favorite. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
