I have had this one in the humidor for a while now and it’s time to come out. The initial smell has a soft sweetness to it along with some spice. The wrapper a really nice creamy Connecticut with visible leaf lines. The band is very nice with the classic Gurkha logo and a second red band with 1887 on it. There is also a cedar wrapper on the bottom half of the cigar. Cold draw has a faint sweet taste. Snip and a light and away we go.

First puffs– There is a deep oak flavor with pepper underneath and a sweetness like a cognac. The combo is killer. The first draws were tight but then opened up a bit. Smoke production is solid.
First third– The flavors remain consistent as my initial puffs except there is a little nut flavor as well. The draw is great and smoke is flowing out. The construction is great so far producing a tight ash.
Second third– Really smooth and creamy with nice mild spice and sweetness. It is really enjoyable how the flavors are mixing, the spice ends up on the back of my palette. The sweetness hits just right. The draw has mellowed and is steady now.

Gurkha 1887 Red Smoked

Final third– Still smoking very well and the flavors remain unchanged.

Overall a very creamy and smooth cigar that blends sweet and spice so well that it seems natural. I recommend grabbing one if you can get your hands on one, relaxing smoke that won’t disappoint you.
