The newest offering from Ezra Zion, All My Ex’s, was released at IPCPR this year. All My Ex’s is produced in Tabacalera Aromas DE Jalapa factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. From Ezra Zion’s press release “We are constantly trying to challenge ourselves in our blending. The next cigar has to be better than the last.” said co-owner Kyle Hoover. “All My EX’s is a blend that we’ve been working on for over a year to perfect.”
Brand: Ezra Zion
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Filler: Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo
A beautiful pale brown wrapper emits a faint pepper and earthy sent. The construction looks to be top notch and is finished off with a perfect triple cap. The band is completely different from any other Ezra Zion stick, it’s almost plain compared to their other lines. Even though it doesn’t have the flash, it is still memorable.
First puffs- A huge blast of Red pepper starts this cigar off right. Once I get past the pepper bomb there is a ton of leather and oak flavors.
First Third- The red pepper has changed into a smooth black pepper taste. Now I am tasting an earthy salt along with leather. The cigar draws really well with tons of smoke. As this part of the stick burns away, a sweet dark fruit flavor is mixing in.
Second Third- Now all the flavors have leveled off. Not one flavor is completely dominating the profile. The sweet fruit flavor is now identifable as mandarin orange. I’m absolutely loving the mix of orange, spice, and oak.
Final Third- The spice is almost completely gone. Now there is a creamy smooth chocolate note. Toward the nub, there is a sweet tobacco taste and I’m picking up more of the dark fruit-raisin flavor.
I could see this being an everyday smoke. I love cigars that have a huge peppery start, and this one may have the biggest pepper bomb I’ve ever tried. The construction was excellent and it burned perfectly. The only issue I had with the cigar is that it ended.
