Espinosa Cigars Sensei’s Sensational Sarsaparilla

Eric Guttormson (Master Sensei) of Cigar Dojo and Erik Espinosa from Espinosa Cigars have teamed up to produce a showstopper of a cigar. Master Sensei asked if they could collaborate on a cigar that would embody uniqueness and full flavors. Sensei’s Sensational Sarsaparilla is a 5.5 x 52 Belicoso rolled in a Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. According to the press release, the undisclosed long filler core is “blended with some of the most flavorful and interesting tobacco you will ever smoke.”

Espinosa Sarsaparilla Smoked

First puffs– I get a nice clean spicy white pepper with hints of cayenne pepper. Notes of hay and earth follow behind to add a nice depth to the smoke.
First third– Strong pepper notes are the major player but are accompanied by a nice raw espresso bean taste. Hints of floral and earth fill in the body of the flavor. There is a meatiness to the flavors and its producing ample amounts of smoke.

Second third– The strength rolls back to a medium. A hearty barbecue meaty taste with a cedar and cayenne mixture. The flavors remind me of a great barbecue dry rub. Really tasty and smoking nicely with a decent burn line.
Final third– A mesquite like flavor that shows characteristics of cedar, spices, cocoa, and floral. Smoking great and producing ample amounts of smoke.

This cigar is amazing. I have smoked almost the whole 10-pack within the first two weeks of getting it and wish I would have purchased more. Erik Espinosa knows how to make a damn good cigar that can go from good to better. I highly suggest that you buy this if there are any left at this point. Otherwise find a BOTL and trade for it.
