Tonight I attended Fox Cigar Bars CAO Hurricane release event. Initial view of this cigar is bold. The band is very literal, a hurricane in metallic red with a black border. Along with a second band for company branding. The initial smell is a bit sweet and woodsy. This cigar has a nice oily leather brown wrapper with visible veins.
First puffs– I get a huge burst of rich spice with an intense burnt wood underneath. The draw is nice and smoke is steady.
First third– Spice still lingers along with the burnt wood flavor. There is a faint hint of something sweet, kinda tastes like cherry. Nice and smooth smoke so far.
Second third– The sweetness has really picked up now, it’s a really nice cherry wood taste. There is still some spice but it’s subtle and blends really well along with a bit of earthiness. The draw is good but a little on the tighter side. Worth noting the burn was very uneven.
Final third– An espresso flavor enters the mix, along with an almond and earth flavors. Burn has evened out and is smoking nicely. Very smooth and creamy.
Overall a very nice smoke. The flavor profile is really great. The sweet and spice, mixed with earth profiles works great. I would definitely suggest trying this one and would smoke it again. CAO has a hit on there hands with this cigar.
