Crowned Heads Jericho Hill

Author:

This marks the first full regular production cigar produced from the My Father factories for The Crowned Heads. A partnership that is producing fantastic results. The Jericho Hill is molded from the concept of Johnny Cash. Wrapper, design, and names all derive from his song “The Man in Black” which mention Juarez Mexico where Willy Lee is brought to justice. As a nod to the legend himself, this cigar is born out of respect and honor. The deep Chocolate brown toothy San Andres wrapper matches the songs title. With a cocoa and citrus scent it just pulls you right in. The band is amazingly sharp looking on this cigar. Creamy gold borders with a black background and a crest in the middle. The cold draw has soft pepper note to it.

Leccia Tobacco Luchador

Meeting Sam Leccia at IPCPR 2014 was a real honor. There isn’t a more down to earth man in the business. He has perfected the art of injecting purely amazing flavors into cigars, yet stays humble. Him and his wife had their booth that showcased the Luchador (new as of May 2014), and the classic Black & White lines. He was gracious and provided this cigar for review.

I was able to meet with Gary at IPCPR2014 and he introduced me to his newest cigar, which was more than 2yrs in the making. Available in 3 sizes (Robusto, Toro, and 60) and produced in the A.J. Fernandez facilities. This wrapper is a deep dark brown broadleaf. The scent of sweet tobacco and espresso emanate from the wrapper. A double band on this cigar. Foot has “Emilio Cigars” and the other band has “Carpe Noctem” (Latin for “Seize the Night”) across a Celtic cross with a night landscape. The cold draw has a nice spicy cayenne kick mixed with cocoa.

1502 Cigars Enrique Sanchez

Hang out with Enrique Sanchez for just 10 minutes, you will feel like you have been transported to Nicaragua. He absolutely oozes with pride and love for cigars and the industry as a whole. His passion for his cigars is second to none. We had some time to go over his upcoming release which he felt needed to stay true to his home Nicaragua and be 100% Nicaraguan. He did this by pulling tobaccos from four major regions Esteli, Condega, Jalapa, and Ometepe. By doing this has created a true Nicaraguan experience in a cigar. He was gracious to offer one for review at IPCPR 2014 and that is fully reviewed below.
