The Aging Room F55 Quattro was named the #2 Cigar of the Year for 2013 and the #1 non Cuban Cigar of 2013 by Cigar Aficionado. This is the result of their hard work making the small batch line a sought after line of cigars. With carefully chosen wrappers that are limited, they are able to produce high quality limited run cigars. For this cigar in particular they chose a Sumatra that Nodal found in a machine-made cigar factory going out of business in Europe. It is also the first box pressed cigar in there lineup. The wrapper has a sweet musty scent to it. The box press wrapper is superb, a milky brown leathery Sumatra with visible leaf lines. There are two bands, the bottom has “Quattro”, while the top is the brand and edition. Encompassed by gold borders with a maroon background that has brass knuckles floating around. The cold draw has a wood flavor with some sweetness

First puffs– Right away I get hit with pepper that started slow, but then built to a full flavor. There is also a sweet cedar taste that really adds a nice twist. I get hints of coffee and some earthiness, but they are faint at this point. The Draw is good and smoke is producing nicely.

First third– During the transition, a creamy coffee note enters that dominates the flavor profiles. The sweet cedar is playing very nicely along side the coffee, together producing a really great taste. I do get some hints of earthiness in here as well. The Draw is great and is burning extremely well, even burn lines.

Second third– Continuing along with the coffee and sweet cedar, although the pepper has returned and hits pretty good during this half. Pepper is fading in and out and most notably has a lingering effect on my lips. The smoke-ability is off the charts, smooth and creamy and very easy to smoke., producing fantastic smoke.
Final third– I find more earth and spice in this last section. There are still some remnants of the sweet cedar but faint at best. Surprisingly still drawing very nicely.

Overall a cigar that will really appeal to aficionados that enjoy a full flavored cigar. The sweet cedar flavor really adds a unique touch that separates this cigar from other full flavored cigars. Aging Room has created a fantastic bold smooth and creamy cigar that hits its flavor mark perfectly. I would for sure smoke this again and plan to. I highly suggest picking some up and trying yourself. This may not be a cigar for a newer smoker as its more towards the full end however. As far as #2 Cigar of the Year, I leave that up to the smoker to decide as I know I had some other cigars that would have been ahead of this one.
