Hang out with Enrique Sanchez for just 10 minutes, you will feel like you have been transported to Nicaragua. He absolutely oozes with pride and love for cigars and the industry as a whole. His passion for his cigars is second to none. We had some time to go over his upcoming release which he felt needed to stay true to his home Nicaragua and be 100% Nicaraguan. He did this by pulling tobaccos from four major regions Esteli, Condega, Jalapa, and Ometepe. By doing this has created a true Nicaraguan experience in a cigar. He was gracious to offer one for review at IPCPR 2014 and that is fully reviewed below.
Brand: 1502 Cigars
Size: Robusto (Box Pressed Foot) 5.0 x 50
All or Nothing with this cigar, tobacco from Esteli, Condega, Jalapa and Ometepe, the four major tobacco regions (of) Nicaragua, and it is being manufactured in Estelí by the Plasencia Family. A true 100% Nicaraguan cigar. This is what defines the brand and this cigar. A simple band is showcased in white and gold. Subtle but fantastic. The wrapper has a sweet cocoa scent mixed with a touch of citrus. I get a nice earthy tangy flavor from the cold draw. An interesting feature is the “cigar lock” a semi closed foot that holds it all together.
Overall a fantastic cigar that will easily be an everyday smoke. This is perfect for any newer smoker and seasoned smokers as well. The nature flavors from Nicaragua are on full display and 1502 has done an amazing job putting it all together in a fantastic stogie.
